Matthias Weiner

VFX Supervisor

In 1999, I saw “The Matrix” for the first time. The movie, which invented “bullet-time” as a special effect, was memorable for me. After a family vacation, I found a passion for film for myself, with the Hi8 camera I bought especially for it.

Then, in my school days, I produced parodies of The Matrix and Star Wars, among others. VFX without computers is hard to imagine today. I loved to tinker with computers as a child, much to the chagrin of my parents.

The whole thing led me via detours to my “nerd education” as an IT specialist for system integration at T-Systems. After completing the same, with my final thesis “Building a cluster to accelerate image synthesis processes”, I’ve been a visual effects supervisor and IT admin since the company was founded to bring more of The Matrix to the German film world.

Retouching electrical outlets, making women float or creating whole fantastic worlds – my great team and years of experience help to plan and implement any idea, no matter how crazy. Or as Neo once said “There is no spoon”.
