Susanne Masuch

Since childhood, I have loved writing stories and drawing pictures. Thanks to my great passion for movies, I also constantly asked my parents to buy me dozens of VHS tapes, DVDs and Blu-rays. I quickly realized, thanks to the countless hours of behind-the-scenes footage, that pictures were too static and writing too much of a headache for me to tell my stories to my liking. And what those countless people were doing behind the camera and in their dark rooms looked so much cooler, too!

So when my art teacher asked me to join my high school’s video club and I sat behind the camera and in front of an editing program for the first time myself, it suddenly “clicked!” My dream job had finally been found. Studying media technology in the field of post-production at Mittweida University was logical for me.

After a short excursion to the high seas as a TV operator on a cruise ship, one thing was clear to me: I would like to stay in my home country. (And preferably in the dark! Bye Bye desert and summer!). That’s why I happily joined SONS in 2018 as an editor and colorist, taking care of all aspects of post-production in my darkroom.
